Accountabilities:
  • Design and develop scalable backend services to support platform modernization and replace legacy systems
  • Build and maintain secure, high-performance APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
  • Drive architectural decisions that ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of platform components
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions
  • Implement best practices in code quality, observability, and system monitoring
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and DevOps processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems
  • Influence technical standards and mentor peers through knowledge sharing and leadership
  • Ensure platform security, compliance, and performance optimization across all services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development expertise
  • 5+ years of experience building scalable services and APIs using Python
  • Proven experience in platform modernization, migration, or legacy system replacement initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Strong knowledge of REST API design, authentication, versioning, and best practices
  • Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
  • Familiarity with data platforms and tools such as Databricks and Apache Spark
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently in complex environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
