Role

The Early Childhood Director provides visionary leadership, spiritual guidance, and operational oversight for Lake Country Christian School’s Early Childhood Program (Kinder Prep and Pre-K4). This position ensures a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and Christ-centered learning environment that supports the school’s mission and prepares students for academic success.

The Director oversees curriculum implementation, faculty supervision, compliance, enrollment growth, family engagement, and daily program operations, and instructs the kinder prep class.

Spiritual Leadership

  • Model Christ-centered leadership consistent with the mission and values of Lake Country Christian School.
  • Integrate Biblical principles into the early childhood program.
  • Partner with families to reinforce faith-based education at home and school.

Leadership & Administration

  • Provide leadership and supervision for all Early Childhood faculty and staff.
  • Maintain compliance with ACSI for accreditation and state standards.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies and state regulations.
  • Works with Elementary Principal and manages the annual budget in collaboration with the business office.
  • Lead staff meetings and professional development specific to early childhood education as needed
  • Coordinate classroom assignments and daily schedules.
  • Oversee safety protocols, emergency procedures, and student supervision.

Academic & Program Oversight

  • Implement and oversee developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with school standards.
  • Ensure kindergarten readiness benchmarks are met.
  • Monitor classroom instruction and student progress.
  • Support differentiated learning and positive behavior management strategies.
  • Maintain appropriate student-teacher ratios in compliance with state guidelines.

Enrollment & Family Engagement

  • Partner with admissions to promote and grow the Early Childhood program.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents regarding student development and program initiatives.
  • With the assistance of the Elementary Principal you will address parent concerns with professionalism and grace.

Staff Responsibilities

  • Attend daily prayer and devotion time
  • Serve as duty teacher before or after school, at lunch and between classes as assigned by the administration.
  • Participate in in-service and staff development opportunities as requested by the

administration.

  • Teach bell-to-bell and assess your students' academic needs/success continually.
  • Take attendance

Parental Responsibilities

  • Realize that the parent has been given the Biblical mandate to educate, and the school functions as an extension of the Christian home
  • Communicate with parents liberally, giving special consideration to challenges and opportunities to share successes.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of early childhood teaching experience.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior administration of Gesell testing preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACSI accreditation standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of Texas early learning standards.
  • Understanding of state childcare licensing requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Christian education.
