- Design, build, and ship full-stack features that optimize the acquisition funnel, from user onboarding through checkout.
- Implement and run A/B experiments focused on improving conversion rates, pricing models, signup flows, and product recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to prioritize experiments and deliver data-driven improvements to the user journey.
- Guide engineers through technical mentorship, code reviews, pair programming, and career development conversations.
- Own the design and evolution of the experimentation infrastructure, enabling fast and reliable testing cycles.
- Work with data teams to implement analytics instrumentation and cohort-based retention tracking to ensure experiment quality.
- Continuously optimize system performance and architecture while ensuring experimentation does not negatively impact long-term retention or user experience.
- Promote the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering productivity and shipping velocity.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading engineering teams of 48 developers, with strong mentorship and people management capabilities.
- Strong full-stack development experience, particularly with Ruby on Rails and React/TypeScript, and a willingness to remain hands-on.
- Demonstrated success building and measuring growth experiments in subscription or product-led environments.
- Strong understanding of conversion funnels, experimentation methodologies, and product analytics.
- Experience designing experiments including metric selection, sample size calculations, and interpreting trade-offs between conversion and retention.
- Familiarity with event-driven or event-sourced architectures and scalable backend systems.
- Experience working with modern analytics and experimentation tools such as Amplitude, Optimizely, or LaunchDarkly.
- Knowledge of payment integrations or subscription billing platforms is beneficial.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools (such as coding assistants or agent-based development tools) to enhance productivity.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed engineering environment while collaborating across product and design teams.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package including salary and equity participation
- Comprehensive health, medical, and dental insurance coverage
- Flexible vacation and time-off policies
- Stock options with long-term growth potential
