Job Title: Starter / Marshal (Seasonal)

Position Type: Seasonal (April – October)

Hours: 16–24 hours per week

Position Summary:

The Starter / Marshal ensures a smooth, enjoyable golf experience for members and guests by managing tee times, monitoring pace of play, and upholding club rules and etiquette at a busy private club throughout the golf season.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Organize and control the first tee to ensure groups start on time.
• Verify tee times and manage the daily play schedule.
• Monitor pace of play and address slow play diplomatically.
• Enforce club rules, dress code, and course policies.
• Communicate effectively with the golf shop and outside services staff.
• Provide basic course information and assist with member inquiries.
• Report course issues, safety concerns, or member feedback to management.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and tactful in all situations.
• Knowledge of golf etiquette and basic rules preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule:

This seasonal position runs from April through October and requires approximately 16–24 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
