Summary/Objective: As a QA Analyst, you evaluate software and firmware and test to verify that functionality aligns with specifications and standards. A QA Analyst runs tests on new or modified software programs to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Gain familiarity with our products, processes, tools and technology.
  2. Help identify, analyze, and document defects, inconsistencies, and other issues in software and firmware.
  3. Participate in design reviews and recommend design improvements or revisions to developers and business analysts. Approve design specifications and create test cases and data prior to coding by developers.
  4. Help document, track, and communicate software test plans and test results.
  5. Actively participate in skills training (languages, design methodologies, and technologies) in order to continuously grow as a QA Analyst.
  6. Participate in Agile ceremonies, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  7. Practice and evolve communication skills to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
  8. Assist with integration testing, integrating various software and hardware/firmware.
  9. Assist in establishing department processes, standards, procedures and practices.

Qualifications:

Education: Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.

Experience: Up to 5 years of experience in a quality assurance environment.

Competencies:

  • Some experience executing test cases and recording test case results and analyzing requirements documents
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Travel: Less than 10% travel is expected.

Security: Required to consistently demonstrate adherence to all security requirements and accepted practices as contained in the current ES&S Security Policy. Incumbents must proactively read, comprehend and adhere to all ES&S security policies, practices and procedures regarding the safety and safekeeping of co-workers, products, services and other intellectual property as defined in the ES&S New Business and Non-disclosure, or Proprietary matters, Confidential matters and Non-Competition agreements, and the current ES&S Security Policy Manual.
