This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact data science initiatives across fraud, credit risk, and collections analytics for key clients in Spain and the Ibero-America region. You will act as a strategic partner, collaborating directly with senior stakeholders to diagnose challenges, design AI/ML-driven solutions, and demonstrate measurable business value. This position combines technical expertise, client-facing consultancy, and commercial influence, allowing you to shape solutions that drive growth and efficiency. You will also mentor junior data scientists, contribute to regional and global strategy, and stay at the forefront of data science innovation within a dynamic, remote-friendly environment. Occasional travel may be required to meet clients and regional teams.
- Engage with clients at senior and C-suite levels to understand business challenges and design data science solutions with measurable impact.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of analytics projects in fraud detection, credit risk, and collections, ensuring timely and successful implementation.
- Communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences, demonstrating the business value of AI/ML initiatives.
- Partner with Sales and Solutions Consulting to shape proposals, statements of work, and commercial opportunities.
- Identify and qualify data science opportunities across the region, including expansions within existing accounts.
- Source, prepare, and manage complex datasets to enable development and deployment of advanced AI/ML models.
- Mentor and coach regional data science team members, elevating technical standards and delivery quality.
- Contribute to analytical strategy, product development, and innovative solutions grounded in real client experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in data science roles, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods.
- Domain expertise in at least one of: fraud detection, credit risk management, or collections analytics.
- Proven B2B client-facing experience, confident engaging senior stakeholders and communicating business impact.
- Strong commercial instinct with the ability to estimate and demonstrate ROI for data science initiatives.
- Advanced data wrangling skills: cleaning, merging, sampling, and preparing complex datasets.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
- Experience drafting project proposals, leading projects, or applying MLOps practices is highly desirable.
- Background in fintech, auto finance, or telco financial services is advantageous.
