Job Summary:
The Patient Access Team Leader is responsible for the Central Access teams that complete functions including Centralized Check-In at all sites for outpatient services, registration of outpatient services, ED registration, and inpatient admissions; works collaboratively with Central Scheduling Team Leader, Medical Group Practice Managers and Patient Accounting and Revenue Integrity Manager, to achieve and maintain quality, financial viability, patient and visitor safety, and customer service excellence and satisfaction. Builds and sustains a strong working allegiance with Central Scheduling Team Leader to ensure patient access to SCH is smooth and efficient; provides exemplary customer patient-centered service. Assures that a quality patient experience takes place through professionalism, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Acts as a role model for the department and acts as a mentor and coach to reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
Exemplary customer services skills; knowledge of PC and strong typing skills; knowledge of medical terminology preferred; familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle; third party insurance and excellent oral communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and logic as it applies to the identification and prioritization of patient and hospital issues; knowledge of all facets of Patient Access procedures and interrelations of Central Access areas including reporting techniques; demonstrated knowledge of identifying business issues and quality indicators. Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party insurance required; College degree preferred; three years experience in hospital facility.
Pay Range: $51,500.80 - $59,740.20
