Control Center Operator

This role is a real-time operations position at the core of a mission-driven environmental services organization, where technology and field operations come together. As a Control Center Operator, you will monitor live mobile water and wastewater systems using SCADA platforms, dashboards, and real-time data tools to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime. You will act as the central coordination point between field teams, dispatch, and internal departments, ensuring issues are identified, diagnosed, and resolved efficiently. The role requires strong analytical thinking, technical curiosity, and the ability to act quickly in a 24/7 operational environment. Working on a structured night shift schedule, you will contribute directly to service reliability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, technology-enabled control center.

Accountabilities:
  • Monitor real-time water and wastewater systems using SCADA tools, dashboards, alerts, and live data streams to detect performance issues
  • Identify system anomalies, troubleshoot remotely when possible, and generate work orders for field teams to resolve operational issues
  • Perform data validation, analysis, and reporting to ensure high data integrity and support operational decision-making
  • Coordinate closely with field operators, dispatch teams, and supervisors to communicate issues and prioritize response based on severity
  • Serve as a central communication hub for operations, ensuring accurate and timely information flow across teams
  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback and ideas to enhance SCADA tools, reporting systems, and operational workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance, business intelligence, and sales to support broader operational needs
  • Assist in training personnel on operational tools and systems used within the control center environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in field operations, monitoring, compliance, or a related technical operations role
  • Experience working with SCADA systems, remote monitoring tools, or industrial control platforms preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with operational software systems
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a rotating 4-on/4-off schedule in a control center environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly in fast-paced situations
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with field teams and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a strong driving record
  • Ability to obtain required environmental operator certification within one year of employment
