This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced construction operations professional with a strong background in heavy industrial projects, particularly within mining and metals environments. The role is focused on overseeing large-scale project execution, driving operational excellence, and ensuring successful delivery across complex EPC and industrial construction initiatives. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage high-value project portfolios, and play a key role in business development, financial oversight, and client relationship management. Operating in a fast-paced and safety-driven environment, this position offers the opportunity to influence strategic growth while mentoring teams and strengthening operational performance nationwide. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen with deep technical expertise and proven leadership capabilities in large industrial construction settings. This remote role includes significant travel and provides exposure to major infrastructure and industrial development projects across the United States.
- Lead day-to-day operational oversight for multiple large-scale mining, metals, or industrial construction projects across the United States.
- Manage project profitability, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, procurement, safety, and quality performance across assigned operations.
- Direct and support Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Oversee projects and portfolios valued at $500M+ while driving operational efficiency and resource optimization.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, engineering firms, OEMs, and strategic partners to support business growth initiatives.
- Participate in business development efforts including proposal reviews, bid strategy, preconstruction planning, and client engagement activities.
- Lead contract review, change order management, and commercial negotiations to protect project profitability and minimize operational risks.
- Monitor financial performance through cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Promote and enforce strong safety and quality cultures across all project sites and operational teams.
- Represent the organization at client meetings, industry events, trade shows, and leadership reviews.
- Mentor, develop, and lead operational teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience leading complex industrial construction projects within mining, metals, power generation, or similar heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong experience working within EPC, Design-Build, or Construction Management project delivery environments.
- Proven track record managing large-scale industrial construction operations and multi-project portfolios.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract management expertise.
- Extensive experience with change order management, schedule management, and risk mitigation processes.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring capabilities within field and operational environments.
- Strong business development and client relationship management skills with the ability to support strategic growth initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial safety standards, construction methods, fabrication processes, and operational best practices.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% across the United States.
- Proficiency with standard business and office software tools.
- Competitive compensation package ranging from approximately $200,000–$225,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
