What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will report to the Director of Pharmacy Services or designee. Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of pharmacy services that promote and provide pharmaceutical care. Participates directly in clinically oriented services within the individuals assigned scope of practice. Demonstrates a commitment to provide an excellent customer service experience
Clinical Pharmacist Job Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication and IV orders for accuracy, dosing, and appropriateness across all patient populations.
- Prepare and dispense medications, including sterile compounding (IV admixtures, TPNs) following USP 797 guidelines.
- Provide medication therapy management, dosing recommendations, and clinical interventions; document in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure safe medication use.
- Participate in antimicrobial stewardship, formulary management, and cost-containment initiatives.
- Monitor medication safety, report adverse drug reactions, and conduct medication use evaluations.
- Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy technicians, externs, and residents.
- Maintain compliance with licensure, certifications, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
- Provide patient counseling and education on medications as needed.
- Support departmental operations, quality improvement, and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring
As a Clinical Pharmacist, this role requires knowledge of current pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as the motivation to provide pharmaceutical care to patients through a collaborative team approach with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care. The individual must demonstrate strong data collection abilities, along with effective organization, planning, and clinical problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as the interpersonal abilities needed to interact with patients, providers, and healthcare professionals in a tactful, sincere, and professional manner. The position also requires the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse population to ensure the effective delivery of pharmaceutical services
Required Qualifications
- The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, a Master's degree or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university.
- A license or demonstrated eligibility for licensure, to practice pharmacy in Indiana is required.
- A minimum of two years of hospital pharmacy experience and/or completion of a pharmacy residency is preferred.
- Clinical experience or residency training is required if the highest education is a Bachelor’s degree.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required. If needed, training and certification as well as periodic recertification will be provided by Beacon.

The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm D degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam and licensure as a registered pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the State of Indiana.
