About This Position

Senior Director, HR Operations

  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
    • The Senior Director of Human Resources Operations is a key member of the Human Resources leadership team responsible for leading, integrating, and optimizing the operational functions of the HR department across Berkshire Health Systems and leading and supporting key HR initiatives. Reporting to the CHRO, this role ensures that HR programs and services support organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience. The Senior Director oversees, Compensation Administration, Benefits Compliance, Talent Acquisition, Workers Compensation, and Staff Education. The role provides strategic direction, operational excellence, and data-driven insights to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality HR service delivery across the health system.

  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role in a healthcare or large, complex organization.
      • Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple HR disciplines (Compensation, Benefits, Recruitment, HR Operations, Training, or similar).
      • Strong background in HR technology, analytics, and process improvement.
    • Education and Training:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • Professional certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS) preferred.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Deep knowledge of employment and benefits law, compensation practices, and HR systems.
      • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive performance through influence and collaboration.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
