Educator (Non- RN) at Westchester Medical Center – Valhalla, New York

Job Summary:

The educator is responsible for the facilitation and training of crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies for nursing and nursing support.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques and protocols to individuals and groups, ensuring adherence to organizational policy.
• Evaluate performance through practical and written tests to ensure that certification requirements are met.
• Customize training materials and methods according to the specific needs of different audiences, such as healthcare professionals, school staff, or community.
• Manage class logistics, including scheduling, venue preparation, and ensuring the availability of all necessary training equipment and materials.
• Provide feedback and coaching to students during practical exercises to improve their skills and confidence in emergency situations.
• Coordinate administrative tasks related to the certification process, including issuing certificates to participants who successfully complete the course.
• Advocate for the importance of training in the community by participating in public awareness campaigns and events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

Recent experience in teaching crisis prevention and management coursework and de-escalation techniques in the management of behavioral emergencies experience required.

Education:

Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in a health-related field program.

Licenses / Certifications:

Current instructor status in crisis prevention and management
