ICP Group ICP Group is seeking an R&D Chemist to join our Andover, MA laboratory. This role is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and scale-up of advanced coating systems, with a focus on performance, durability, regulatory compliance, and manufacturability. and field validation through customer interaction to ensure solutions meet real-world application requirements.
Requirements:
ICP Group ICP Group is seeking an R&D Chemist to join our Andover, MA laboratory. This role is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and scale-up of advanced coating systems, with a focus on performance, durability, regulatory compliance, and manufacturability. and field validation through customer interaction to ensure solutions meet real-world application requirements.
- Formulation & Innovation: Develop and optimize architectural and specialty coating formulations using diverse resin systems, pigments, and additives. Maintain and expand the formulation portfolio while meeting performance, regulatory, and business requirements through disciplined product development.
- Performance Testing & Validation: Design and execute laboratory tests using standard methods to evaluate key performance properties. Validate product performance through customer trials and field evaluations.
- Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support: Lead scale-up from lab to pilot and full production. Provide manufacturing support to ensure quality, consistency, and process optimization, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production issues.
- Product Support & Continuous Improvement: Improve existing products through reformulation, raw material evaluation, and cost/performance optimization. Investigate customer complaints and implement data-driven corrective actions.
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as technical lead for assigned product lines, managing projects from concept through commercialization. Partner with Product Management and Project Management to align priorities, timelines, and stage-gate milestones, and collaborate with R&D, QC, manufacturing, commercial teams, and suppliers.
Requirements:
- BS or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in coatings or materials formulation
- Strong understanding of polymer and coating chemistry
- Experience designing and interpreting structured experiments and performance data
- Familiarity with coating characterization techniques and application methods
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders
- Compensation: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 a year. Actual pay is dependent on candidates overall skills for the role
