Position Title: Emergency Services Director

Shift: Days

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Compensation: $107,000-$170,000 annually
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles

Position Purpose: Responsible for the administrative and clinical management of the Emergency Department

1. Manages the overall clinical operations of her/his assigned areas, including but not limited to: maintaining policies; assessing competencies; procuring equipment; ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring quality and establishing improvement plans based on current best practice.
2. Manages the overall fiscal operations of her/his assigned areas including operations and capital budget, staffing patterns, scheduling and attendance, and agency/registry use.
3. Builds a cohesive patient care team, including the development of appropriate clinical, administrative and support staffing patterns; recruitment; selection; orientation/mentoring; and team-building.
4. Assures continued improvement in patient satisfaction both by monitoring survey results and by one-on-one interviews with patients.
5. Mentors and supports staff as evidenced by: meeting minutes, staff satisfaction scores, retention/vacancy data and statistics on completion of certificates and degrees within the staff.
6. Creates a collegial atmosphere between physicians and nursing staff by supporting healthy educational dialogue regarding clinical issues, such as new procedures and patient populations.
7. Acts as a leader within Saint Anthony's based on participation in key committees that support patient care and human resources.
8. Works with community-based agencies such as the Chicago Fire Department to obtain feedback, develop relationships and ensure a positive image of Saint Anthony Hospital.
9. Acts as Administrator for IBEX. Collaborates with Information Technology to ensure IBEX EMR meets requirements for meaningful use and privacy and security.

• Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
• Participates in staff meetings and other in-services, meetings or committees as required.
• Comfortable with keyboarding and software navigation.
• Embraces continuous learning, both to support the workplace and for lifelong professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned after demonstrating required competency or completing requisite training.

• 5 years clinical leadership experience
• RN Liscense and BLS required
