Line Cook/Prep Cook at Springbrook Behavioral Health System – Travelers Rest, South Carolina

Springbrook Behavioral Health System is seeking candidates for the position of Cook. This position provides for the ordering, preparation, cooking of food for patients, visitors and staff.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: One year experience in food production/preparation. Knowledge of therapeutic diets and the prep of food for therapeutic/special diets.

Physical: Medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to work at stove and steam tables with heat, and in freezer areas.

Special Skills: Must be 18 years of age. Ability to coordinate activities of other dietary staff and work among behavioral health patients. Read menus or recipes, measure, cut or otherwise work on food products with great precision. Use arithmetic to calculate materials needed to produce food.
