About This Position
Plant Mechanic

Work Location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas, TX 75231
Work Hours: Full-Time; Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
Here's What You Need:
Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Experience
• 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment and utilities systems required.
• Healthcare environment is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
• DL - Driver's License Valid Class C Driver's License Upon Hire required.
Skills:
• Must have good written and verbal skills to read blueprints, work orders and interact with staff, tenants, contractors and others.
• Able to use hand tools, electrical tools and others with little supervision.
• Requires the ability to travel, climb stairs and ladders to access equipment; pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping and standing in difficult positions in crowded quarters to make inspections and observe equipment, displays and dials.
What You Will Do:
• Maintain the efficient operation of the facility by:
o Identify equipment operational and maintenance needs.
o Implement preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities.
o Record mechanical equipment readings and ensure accuracy of records kept.
o Maintain plant safety features.
o Perform major repair on machinery and to the facility including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry and mechanical equipment.
o Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
o Ability to perform rotating on call duties as scheduled.
• Perform routine mechanical, electrical, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, replacement of parts, and related plant work activities.
• Utilize the CMMS to keep accurate computerized records of activities, time, and materials required?? keeps accurate reports of equipment maintenance and performance.
• Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, educational opportunities, and related training.
