About This Position
Job Title: Cashier – Guest Experience
Reports To: Store Manager, Department Manager

Job Summary:
As a Cashier - Guest Experience at The Golden Hog, you are the final touchpoint in a premium food market experience. You will deliver warm, attentive service while processing transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, food retail environment. Beyond the register, you will support bagging, guide guests on products when needed, and help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked front-of-house area. We focus on hospitality, quality, and flow — ensuring every guest leaves with a smooth, elevated shopping experience.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers warmly and creating a welcoming atmosphere at the register
- Accurately scan, price, bag groceries, and merchandise
- Each customer receives only one bag; if they want additional bags, there will be a charge.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment properly and securely
- Issue receipts, refunds, or credits as needed
- Maintain a clean, orderly checkout area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment
- Assist customers with questions about products, store layout, and promotions
- Support other departments when needed by stocking shelves or helping with light cleaning
- Follow all company policies, including those related to security, cash handling, and safety
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth store operations
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required (training provided).
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed
Schedule:
The standard schedule will be 5 days per week with 2 days off, determined based on operational needs. Due to special events, additional days or holidays may be required.
