This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact engineering team focused on user trust, privacy, and identity management across multiple platforms. You will oversee the development of user-facing experiences that ensure compliance, safety, and authenticity while partnering closely with product, design, legal, and platform teams. The position requires strong cross-functional leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision to balance regulatory requirements with seamless user experiences. Success in this role is measured by the delivery of high-quality, low-error-tolerance flows, adoption of privacy and compliance features, and the growth of a high-performing, cross-platform team. You will play a critical role in shaping product decisions at the intersection of technology, trust, and user privacy. This position is ideal for leaders passionate about building secure, compliant, and user-centric systems at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead a team of 6-8 engineers across backend, iOS, Android, and web platforms to deliver user-facing identity and privacy experiences
  • Own end-to-end identity verification flows, privacy controls, and compliance-related user experiences
  • Translate regulatory, legal, and platform requirements into clear, actionable engineering work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, design, legal, policy, and trust teams to ensure alignment and product quality
  • Drive technical excellence, code quality, and scalable architecture while fostering a culture of ownership and high performance
  • Mentor and develop team members, growing leadership capabilities and maintaining a collaborative, accountable, and innovative environment
  • Ensure delivery of critical compliance flows, audit-ready systems, and high-stakes experiences with minimal errors

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of industry experience with 3+ years in engineering management or equivalent leadership roles
  • Experience leading cross-platform engineering teams delivering user-facing features
  • Proven track record in building trust, identity, privacy, or compliance-related products, or analogous regulatory domains
  • Strong product intuition with the ability to translate complex requirements into simple, user-friendly solutions
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs and regulatory implications to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with sensitive data handling, privacy-by-design principles, or identity verification systems
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions balancing technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and user experience
  • Preferred: familiarity with IDV/KYC/KYB flows, GDPR/CCPA compliance, or high-stakes, low-error-tolerance product domains

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $204,000 – $255,000 USD
  • Performance-based bonus and potential equity participation
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work environment with occasional offsite opportunities
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Professional growth opportunities in a high-impact, mission-driven engineering organization
  • Supportive and inclusive culture with mentorship and career development programs
  • Employee travel credits and additional perks depending on role and location
