Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing and coordinating non-emergent medical transportation requests for patients leaving the hospital as well as acute patient transport within the hospital system.
  • Works closely with various stakeholders (internal and external) to coordinate transportation logistics and prioritize patient needs.
  • Operating within our 24/7 lean department, you will be an integral part of our continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to streamline transportation processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Your proactive approach to problem-solving and your commitment to excellence will contribute to our overarching goal of delivering exceptional patient care.


Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, behavioral health, social services or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years of healthcare work environment experience required.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of community resources and the social service delivery system
  • Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders
  • Ability to foster communication and build relationships among the treatment team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Computer literate and ability to utilize Microsoft programs and Electronic Medical Records System (Epic)
  • Data management
  • Initiate coordination
  • Investigate and create new transportation pathways.
