CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a seasoned leader, you’ll be a subject matter expert in production planning and material requirements tools, sharing your knowledge with others in the organization. We’ll rely on you to develop detailed schedules, production plans and capacity plans along with complex bills of material for large programs. The Advanced Manufacturing Planning Specialist will review work authorization documents and generate material program plans and coordinate kick-off meetings with functional departments to communicate program goals and objectives.

Overview:

The Material Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing program procurement activities, for multiple programs within a specific line of business. This position will provide end-to-end program support, assiting in the upfront proposal activities, helping the program understand material costs and lead times and supporting material procurements throughout the development and production cycle. This will include overseeing quoting activities, supplier outreach, working to balance material need requirements with build and program schedules, maintaining material target pricing, and reporting on the overall health and status of the program from a material perspective. In this position, the Material Procurement Specialist will be deeply embedded with the Manufacturing Planning team, Deputy Program Manager of Operations and Supply Chain Enterprise Procurement, working in tandem to ensure build schedules are met on time and budget to assist in the overall success of the programs. Aditionally, this position will require routine interaction with Quality, Engineering and the Program Office.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participates in proposal activities, maintaining quoting timelines, BOM fidelity and cost objectives

- Presenting to leadership on proposal efforts by identifying material risks related to lead time, cost or sourcing issues

- Works direclty with Manufacturing Planning and Deputy Program Manager of Operations on the development of production build schedules based on material clear dates

- Working directly with suppliers to ensure target dates and costs are met or exceeded

- Routinely works with SCM to expedite material from suppliers to meet planning build schedules

- Reviews program material budgets and reports on variances

- Works directly with SCM and ENG to resolve issues surrounding material availability and replacement issues

- Assist with material change notices to provide proper documentation to suppliers

- Participates in monthly Program Reviews and presents supply chain data to leadership

- Reviews open commitments and maintains Line-of-Sight activities for material sales month to month

- Leads supplier engagement activities with MFG, ENG and Program Office

What you bring to the table:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Effective risk management skills to identify and implement risk reduction plan
  • Ability to coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering
  • Skilled at complex negotiations with customers and/or suppliers

Combined Salary Range

USD $91,211.00 - USD $98,694.00 /Yr.
