Join us as a Business Development Director and lead our referral growth across Thurston, Pierce, King, and Kitsap Counties! In this leadership role, you’ll oversee Account Executive representatives, build strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, and skilled nursing facilities, and drive hospice admissions while supporting patients and families with compassionate end-of-life care. Compensation range: $123,000 – $141,500/annually, based on factors such as years of healthcare experience, proven sales performance, and specialized expertise in hospice/home health sales.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to the Account Executive team
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow hospice referrals and expand market presence
- Coach, mentor, and support Account Executives through joint visits, field support, and performance development
- Establish and maintain relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other healthcare partners
- Identify new market opportunities and community partnerships to support program growth
- Monitor referral trends, territory performance, and growth metrics to guide business development strategy
- Collaborate with clinical leadership and admissions teams to ensure seamless patient transitions into hospice services
- Lead community outreach efforts including educational presentations, networking events, and professional meetings
- Ensure all marketing and outreach activities comply with Medicare regulations and organizational policies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred
- Active BLS Certification
- 5+ years of hospice, home health, or healthcare business development experience required
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in healthcare sales strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of hospice services, referral processes, and Medicare guideline
- Proven track record of building referral relationships and driving census growth
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory
