About This Position

Office Coordinator - RMC Neurology

Responsible for management and oversight of office functions for the department to include oversight of patient schedules/appointments, management of clinics medical records, oversight and maintenance of billing, coding, and documentation integrity, and maintains knowledge of insurance regulations and referral agencies. Compiles statistical data and assists leadership with reports and compliance audits. Serves as clinic lead, handling day to day operations and escalating to physicians and/or leadership as necessary. Orders office supplies. Maintains schedule of employee/department events. Provides regular clerical support to the department to include: patient scheduling, registration, new and discharge patient chart maintenance, insurance verification, receptionist duties, answering telephones, filing, payment management, and obtaining accurate referral information.Provides direct patient care as ordered and directed by physician, including administration of medications, performing diagnostic tests, completing referral authorization and instructing patient/client about treatment/work status. Performs drug screens. Maintains organization of clinical areas and restocks inventory as needed. Assists with all clinical/clerical tasks as needed to provide service excellence.

Supervises staff and serves as clinic lead, handling day to day operations and escalating to physicians and/or leadership as necessary

Schedules appointments,
Maintains schedule of employees and department events
Compiles statistical data and assists leadership with reports and compliance audits.
Manages departmental medical records and ensures documentation integrity
Oversight and management of billing/Coding/Chargemaster, Maintenance, Holds knowledge of insurance/payer/referral source regulations
Performs clinical activities required to assist the physician in a clinical setting.
Exercises appropriate measures to maintain high standards of patient care.
Use of HER.
Orders and maintains neat and orderly stock of supplies.
Complies with standards of JCAHO and other governing agencies.

High school degree or equivalent with additional business courses preferred. Holds basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Prefer 2-5 years of secretarial/medical office experience.
