Job Purpose

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator partners with the Development and Communications team to support the execution of communication and marketing efforts that enhance Y.O.U.’s visibility, engage key stakeholders, and advance organizational fundraising and corporate engagement goals. This role works collaboratively with the Communications & Marketing Specialist, focusing on implementation and day-to-day execution while receiving strategic direction from the Director of Advancement.

Essential Functions

  • Support the development and execution of marketing communications, including collateral content, social media posts, e-newsletters, story archives, and website updates.
  • Assist and support the Communications and Marketing Specialist in maintenance of Y.O.U. website by creating pages, uploading images, writing stories, and managing content.
  • Capture and edit photos and videos for stewardship efforts with focus on external use, and assist with coordination of photo and video projects with external vendors as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the monthly editorial calendar to support awareness of Y.O.U. programs and partners.
  • Work with development and communications team to execute communications to audiences pertinent to our stewardship efforts.
  • Assist with donor recognition activities, including preparing communications and supporting recognition events in alignment with donor communication strategies.
  • Work closely with the fundraising team to align communication efforts with fundraising campaigns and initiatives, collaborating with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to donor communication.
  • Create personalized and meaningful communication materials as part of stewarsdhip efforts including but not limited to thank-you letters, impact reports, and updates, tailoring messages to different donor segments for a personalized and relevant experience.
  • Assist in Y.O.U. events planning and implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or other related fields from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • An additional 2 years of work experience as detailed below can be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree. High School Diploma required.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in copywriting, editing, and digital content creation.
  • Proven ability communicating to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Comfortable using technology and engaging community on social media outlets. Familiarity with common marketing and creative tools such as Squarespace, MailChimp, Hootsuite, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Canva, with willingness to learn additional platforms.
  • Must pass a background BCI/FBI check as a condition of employment.
  • Must have valid transportation to/from Y.O.U. offices, partner organizations, and other community-based locations to meet with clients.

  • Ability to work independently, and with teams, with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

  • This is a hybrid position. This position will work remotely 2 days a week and will be scheduled to work in the office 3 days a week. This position involves frequent travel to community locations up to 40% of the time. Work pace for this position is frequently fast paced where work is required for up to 2 hours at a time. Low supervision from management with intermittent prompts is expected. Social interaction with team members is required frequently.
  • This position requires such physical abilities as sitting for computer and phone work for long periods of time, lifting up to 25 lbs periodically and carrying office supplies, standing, and walking throughout the office buildings.
  • Most of the work is done in a controlled office environment. The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, heights, or other hazards. All remain the same for any additional requirements for training.
