Summary
The Quality Engineering technician’s responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.
Ensure overall product quality and the follow through of daily quality procedures to meet the product standards and requirements.

• A successful Quality Engineering technician should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
• Identifies and controls non-conforming product and ensures items are contained to prevent inadvertent use and/or shipment.
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities
• Analyze processes using established continuous improvement techniques (statistical analyses, takt time studies etc.) to optimize performance.
• Communicates progress and results as required, ensuring an on-going training discipline to maintain improvements.

• Documents opportunities for improvements and problems using the Continuous Improvement Program.
• Coordinate and implement quality control objective activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.
• Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.
• Define corrective actions concerning Quality Assurance, participate and validate the root- cause and effectiveness of corrective actions. Complete any customer related reports for non-conformance and keep customer updated

• Participation on managing and follow up on all APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities and submit PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) on time.
• Develops robust processes for control of quality with aim of providing avenue for continuous improvement in quality and productivity.
• Performing GAP analysis on reducing the cycle times & improving the productivity.
• Knowledge in metrology and lab analysis
• Knowledge of following tools: APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), QSA (Quality System Assessment), FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Customer Specific´s, Critical Incident, VSM (Value Stream Mapping), etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
• Performs in-process and final inspections and documents findings.
• Verifies non-conforming items are corrected prior to release for shipment.
• Documents inspection results and certifies products prior to release for shipment.
• In accordance with procedures, cleans and prepares units for next operation.
• Complies with all safety and hazardous material procedures, wears protective equipment as required to meet or exceed OSHA, ISO-9001 and all company requirements and/or standards.
• May provide training to other employee’s inspection and/or test procedures.
• Maintains all aspects of work place cleanliness and organization on a daily basis.
• Maintains accurate records.
• Inspects, labels and returns both select incoming and manufactured parts.
• May be required to participate in Small Group Improvement Activity Teams, daily Team Meetings and Team Exercise sessions.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, stoop, and kneel on a regular basis.
• Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
• Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.
• Ability to work in a factory environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery.
• Able to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.

• CMM Romer Arm experience (Hexagon Inspire Software preferred)
Required Education/Experience/Skills
• Associates/Technical Degree or certification in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience
• Use of inspection tools to include rulers, tape measures, precision squares, micrometers, calipers, tools and gauges, both analog and digital.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings that can be interpreted for developing inspection plans or first article inspections.
• Required to drive forklift trucks and operate overhead cranes.
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities
• CMM Romer Arm programming and running.
• Hexagon Inspire Software (CMM).
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
• Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, members of management, vendors, and other employees.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications, including metric system.
