This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Productivity in United States.

This role sits at the core of engineering excellence, shaping the tools, platforms, and infrastructure that enable hundreds of engineers to build and ship software at scale. It is a high-impact technical leadership position focused on improving developer experience, accelerating delivery, and enhancing system reliability across a global engineering organization. You will work in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment where automation, AI-driven workflows, and platform thinking are central to success. The role combines deep backend engineering expertise with strategic ownership of CI/CD systems, internal developer tooling, and productivity platforms. You will collaborate closely with distributed teams across engineering, SRE, and infrastructure functions to eliminate friction in the software development lifecycle. This is a highly influential position where your work directly shapes engineering velocity, code quality, and operational efficiency across the company.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of internal engineering productivity platforms, defining technical roadmaps and driving execution end-to-end
  • Analyze engineering workflows in collaboration with product and infrastructure teams to identify bottlenecks and design scalable tooling and automation solutions
  • Build and evolve core infrastructure components including CI/CD systems, microservice-based platforms, messaging systems, and developer tooling
  • Drive AI-powered productivity initiatives such as automated code review, intelligent testing, build optimization, and workflow automation
  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve build performance, deployment speed, reliability, and overall delivery efficiency across global teams
  • Provide technical leadership through RFC reviews, architecture guidance, and mentorship to engineers across the productivity and infrastructure domains
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and measure developer experience improvements using data-driven metrics such as DORA indicators and system performance KPIs

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including work on platform engineering, developer tooling, or large-scale infrastructure systems
  • Strong expertise in backend development using languages such as Python, Java, Go, Kotlin, Rust, or Node.js
  • Deep experience designing and operating distributed, high-concurrency, high-availability systems with strong architectural ownership
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Aliyun, as well as infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
  • Strong system design skills with the ability to define scalable, maintainable, and cost-efficient architectures
  • Proven experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and improving software delivery performance in complex environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI/ML tools or LLM-based development workflows and their application in engineering productivity
  • Preferred: experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, ELK), messaging systems (Kafka), and modern microservices architectures

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation with potential equity opportunities depending on role level
  • Opportunity to shape foundational engineering platforms used across a global organization
  • High-impact technical ownership with visibility across hundreds of engineers
  • Flexible work environment within a globally distributed engineering culture
  • Strong emphasis on learning, innovation, and career growth in a high-scale technical environment
  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI-driven developer productivity systems and cloud-native architectures
  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare coverage and standard corporate perks (varies by location and eligibility).
