This role sits at the heart of a global financial technology platform, leading the engineering efforts behind a mission-critical core banking and wallet infrastructure. You will manage and mentor a high-performing team of backend engineers building distributed, multi-currency ledger systems that power financial transactions at global scale. The work directly impacts transaction accuracy, financial integrity, and customer wallet experiences across multiple products such as payments, transfers, and embedded finance. Operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, you will combine technical depth with leadership to drive architecture decisions and execution quality. You will collaborate closely with product, platform, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable financial systems. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong ownership, systems thinking, and a passion for building resilient financial infrastructure.

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership by contributing to system design, architecture decisions, and implementation of a distributed core banking and transaction platform.
• Drive the development of scalable, accurate, and reliable ledger and wallet systems supporting multi-currency financial transactions and global financial operations.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams to align technical solutions with business and product requirements.
• Oversee the design and evolution of transaction engines ensuring financial correctness, high availability, and system resilience.
• Improve engineering efficiency by introducing better tooling, automation, observability, and modern development practices, including AI-enabled workflows where applicable.
• Ensure engineering output meets high standards for compliance, performance, and system reliability in a regulated financial environment.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building and scaling distributed, mission-critical backend systems with strong focus on availability and consistency.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering management, including mentoring and leading software engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, including ledgering, transaction flows, and accounting principles in a technical context.
• Deep experience with distributed systems architecture and backend development, including databases and event-driven systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, make data-informed decisions, and align engineering execution with business outcomes.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS or GCP), containerization, and modern infrastructure practices is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with observability tools, testing frameworks, and system reliability practices is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
