About This Position
Position SummaryBluestone Real Estate Services is a leading property management company dedicated to providing exceptional service and enhancing the living experiences of our residents. The Junior Property Accountant supports the Property Management Accounting team across residential, commercial, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) portfolios. This role assists with day-to-day accounting functions and month-end close activities, working closely with Senior Property Accountants, the Bookkeeping team, and the Director of Property Management Accounting to ensure accurate coding, reconciliations, billing support, and financial reporting.
This position is located at our corporate office in Portland, Oregon. The hours are Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm, with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after a 90-day introductory period.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close Support
- Assist with month-end close activities for assigned residential and commercial properties
- Prepare and post routine journal entries (accruals, reclasses, recurring entries)
- Support completion of month-end checklists and reporting schedules
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting packages
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Review transactions for accuracy, proper GL coding, and property assignment
- Research and resolve discrepancies and variances
- Assist with intercompany and CAM-related reconciliations as needed
- Support accounts payable processes including invoice coding and review
- Ensure invoices are coded correctly by property, GL account, and CAM category when applicable
- Assist with vendor inquiries and payment research
- Assist with resident and tenant billing support
- Support CAM charge tracking, allocations, and reconciliations under direction of senior staff
- Assist with annual or periodic CAM reconciliation processes
- Enter and maintain accounting transactions within AppFolio
- Support accounting workflows across multiple property types
- Help troubleshoot accounting-related AppFolio issues
- 1+ year of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience
- Basic understanding of accrual accounting and general ledger concepts
- Proficiency in Excel (basic formulas, filters; pivot tables a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and deadline management
- Professional communication skills
- AppFolio experience preferred
- Experience in residential, commercial, or CAM accounting preferred
