PDS Optical is seeking a dependable, results-driven individual to work in our optical lab as Full-Time Edging Technician! The Edging Technician controls the optical manufacturing equipment that edges, cuts, or grinds optical lenses, and marks the measurements on lenses to ensure proper fit, and Segment Heights into the selected frame.

This is an entry-level position with hours from 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Employees will receive on the job training, while optical or manufacturing experience is helpful, no experience is necessary. The starting wage for this position is $16.00/hr.

Essential Functions

• Operate the Edging machines in the lab.
• Reads work ticket to define edge specifications.
• Proper tray scan in your area.
• Must prepare frame by removing screws if necessary.
• Be prepared for jobs with specified bevel and polish edges.
• Light inspections, maintenance and cleaning of machine to ensure proper operation. Be aware of problems or issues with the machines.
• Monitor correct flow of HSE automatic edgers and address errors and stoppages as they occur.

Work Environment

This position is located in our Eding Department of our optical laboratory and operates in a production/manufacturing type setting. The temperature can sometimes be warm, and the noise level can be somewhat loud. This position also requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.
