Classification: Exempt | Full Time | 42 Week Staff | 1680 Hours
Position Summary: This role exists to support and implement the Mission of Magnificat High School. The Assistant Director of Student Services supports the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development of young women.
Mission:
Acts in a manner consistent with the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church, the Mission and Heritage of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, and the Mission, Values, and beliefs of Magnificat High School.

Respects the racial, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic diversity of all students, faculty and staff.
Utilizes a student-centered approach in collaboration with all community members to develop and support programming in alignment with the school’s Mission, Values, and goals.
Employs a restorative approach in developing and maintaining relationships with students, families, and staff.
Major Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with the Director of Student Support Services, school leadership, faculty, staff, families and external partners.
· Assists in coordinating academic support services, including professional tutoring services and testing accommodations.
· Supports the implementation and monitoring of student support plans (e.g. IEPs, 504 plans).
· Collaborates with faculty to ensure appropriate classroom accommodations and differentiation strategies.
· Participates in student support team meetings and maintains confidential records in compliance with applicable laws.
· Monitors student progress and communicates regularly with parents/guardians and teachers.
· Assists with communication and service provision to districts of service and districts of residence for students with IEPs.
· Supports the delivery of school counseling programs addressing academic, social-emotional and personal development needs.
· Provides direct services to individuals and small groups related to executive functioning skills.
· Provides direct services to individuals and small groups related to stress management and anxiety.
· Coordinates referrals to external providers when appropriate.
· Promotes mental health awareness and preventative programming aligned with school initiatives.
· Assists with post secondary transitions of Novy Scholars and other students with IEPs.
Other Responsibilities
· Response appropriately and within one working day to communication from parents, students, school leaders and colleagues.
· Models lifelong learning by participating in professional growth activities and in demonstrating current best practices in the field.
· Develops cultural competency through increased awareness of one’s own identity, culture, and biases.
· Meets with the Dean of Faculty and Academics or his/her designee regarding Individual Performance Goal development and process and Individual Performance Reviews.
· Develops and fulfills an Individual Professional Development Plan aligned with the school’s Mission and according school, Diocesan, and LPDC guidelines.
· Completes other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a typical school office environment, which may involve frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents.
Regular activities include walking, sitting, standing, talking, listening, and engaging in face-to-face and phone communication.
Requires frequent reading, writing, and use of fine motor skills for handling office tasks such as managing correspondence, completing forms, filing documents, faxing, copying, and typing.
Visual focus and attention to detail are essential for reviewing documents, data entry, and operating office equipment.
Frequent use of computers and telephones is required throughout the day.
Occasionally may need to bend at the waist or knees or reach above shoulder level to retrieve files or access items stored on shelves.
Ability to lift or carry moderately heavy items, such as boxes of paper or office supplies (typically up to 20 pounds), on occasion.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
· Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, School Counseling, School Psychology or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.
· Appropriate licensure required.
Work Experience:
· Minimum five years demonstrated successful teaching or student support experience required, experience at the high school level preferred.
