Position SummaryReporting to the Senior Manager of Quality & Compliance, the Manager of Dispensing Quality Assurance is responsible for overseeing all quality-related activities within pharmacy dispensing operations. This role ensures that dispensing processes meet internal quality standards, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and regulatory expectations while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness. This position leads a team responsible for dispensing quality oversight, including QA Specialists, Documentation Specialists (focused on GDP), and Investigation Specialists.
We are seeking a Manager of Dispensing Quality Assurance to partner closely with Compliance, Pharmacy Operations, and QMS to identify risks, standardize processes, and ensure safe and compliant dispensing practices. The role guarantees that all dispensing activities are monitored, documented, and continuously improved through structured quality programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.
- Oversees dispensing quality assurance across all pharmacy operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Leads a team of Quality Assurance Specialists, Documentation Specialists, and Investigation Specialists in support of high-quality pharmacy operations
- Ensures adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) across all dispensing workflows, including review and standardization of supporting documentation
- Manages and standardizes investigation processes related to dispensing errors, deviations, and quality events, ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions
- Monitors and analyzes dispensing quality metrics such as accuracy, error rates, and rework to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Conducts quality reviews and audits of dispensing processes and partner with Compliance and Pharmacy Operations to maintain regulatory adherence and audit readiness
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing dispensing accuracy, reducing errors, and improving operational consistency across pharmacy operations
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, healthcare, quality, or related field (Required)
- Licensure/Certification: Quality or compliance certifications (Preferred)
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in pharmacy operations, quality assurance, or regulated environments (Required)
- Experience leading teams (Required)
- Experience in dispensing quality oversight (Preferred)
- Experience with investigations and documentation governance (Preferred)
- experience building quality programs or frameworks (Preferred)
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing workflows and operations; Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and data integrity principles; quality assurance practices in regulated environments; investigation methodologies and root cause analysis; and board of pharmacy and regulatory expectations (Required)
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS); pharmacy automation and workflow systems; and audit and inspection readiness processes (Preferred)
- Team leadership and performance management skills (Required)
- Quality auditing and process evaluation skills (Required)
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills (Required)
- Data analysis and trend identification skills (Required)
- Experience building quality programs or frameworks
- Process standardization and documentation development skills (Preferred)

- Ability to anticipate systemic quality issues and implement preventative solutions (Preferred)
Work Environment
- Location: On-site
- Schedule: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with night and weekend hours on occasion as determined by the needs of the business and cross-facility travel as needed
- Regular meetings with internal Pharmacy Operations, Operational Excellence, Clinical Leadership, Compliance, and Quality teams. This role may also have meetings with external audit and inspection partner representatives.
Key Essential Functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while writing or reviewing documentation
- Must be able to work on a computer for the entire shift
- Must be able to attend virtual meetings with cross-functional teams.
