Description:

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Tech is responsible for maintaining/repairing all production and facility equipment in a safe and effective manner. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Attendance is a must to be able to be able to perform core position job functions. The maintenance tech is responsible for all aspects of safety throughout the facility including any required training.

CORE DEPARTMENT JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to Operations Department budget.
  • Contribute to maintaining a workplace free from serious recognized hazards and complying with standards, rules, regulations, and policies regarding safety protocol.
  • Report any workplace conditions that appear dangerous or potentially hazardous.
  • Follow the proper procedures for the safe use of tools and equipment associated with the employees’ position and properly maintain equipment.
  • Immediately report any workplace injury or illness to your manager and Human Resources.
  • Attend all required Safety related training and or communication sessions.

CORE POSITION JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Adheres to and follows all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements in the Maintenance Department and throughout facility.
  • Ensure that all safety best practices and training are being used. This includes any and all training specific to the position. Lock out Tag out etc.
  • Attendance is a must to be able to perform core position job functions.
  • Perform complex periodic maintenance on production systems and equipment using knowledge of circuitry, electronics, electrical-mechanical devices, motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, inspect, and test a variety of production systems and equipment.
  • Perform equipment failure analysis and preventive maintenance
  • Work with the engineering staff and outside vendors regarding equipment installation, upgrades, and parts.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Preferred
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, guarding and other structures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines (electrical/mechanical) Preferred
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

Required:

  • Associates degree from a 2 year college or 3-5 years Work experience as acquired in a similar position
  • Must have basic computer skills-email & document scanner
  • Knowledge of energizing systems: Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical etc.
  • Must be able to work in manufacturing Environment which might include mill cutting liquid and fumes
  • Must be able to work daily overtime and Saturdays
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred:

Prior work in a Manufacturing/ Machining setting

Forklift Experience

Ability to read electrical schematics
