JOB SUMMARY
To be successful in this position, the driver must demonstrate punctuality and ensure that all deliveries are completed in a timely manner. Should be able to effectively communicate with customers, warehouse staff and supervisor. Must always adhere to road safety regulations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely transports goods to and from specified locations according to the company delivery schedules.
- Maintains an accurate logbook of driving activities, detailing number of hours worked, deliveries completed and rest periods.
- Communicating to supervisor any traffic issues and delays
- Properly secures goods to ensure that they are not damaged in transit.
- Assists in the loading and unloading of goods, using forklifts as required.
- Obtains signatures from customers upon completion of each delivery to confirm receipt of goods.
- Notifies management of any accidents, parking tickets, vehicle damage and major maintenance issues.
- Ensures that the company truck is always clean and well-maintained.
- Loads and Unloads, including strapping of every load.
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years truck driving experience
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- Expert knowledge in DOT regulations
- Clean driving record
- Effective communication skills
- Able to pass DOT medical exam, if required
- Prior Forklift experience
- Punctual and reliable
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Movement - This position needs to frequently sit, move about inside the office and production facility. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Operate/Use - Must be able to operate truck and trailer safely. Must be able to use a Forklift and other equipment.
- Ascend/Descend - Will be frequently required to ascend/descend stairs
- Physical - This position frequently lifts or moves 25 pounds, occasionally moves up to 50 pounds, rarely moves up to 75 pounds.
- Communicate - Must be able to communicate in verbal and written methods
- Work Environment - In the production facility: Noise level requires use of hearing protection, movement about facility may require use of steel toe shoes, safety glasses. This position is fast paced.
