Fuel Quality Technician at Foster Fuels – Brookneal, Virginia
About This Position
SUMMARY
Foster Fuels a national fuel distribution and fuel service provider has an opening for a Fuel Quality Technician position based out of our Brookneal Headquarters office. Fuel Quality Technicians candidates must possess excellent self-management skills, a proven track record of meeting ambitious goals, and exemplary customer service. This position requires extended periods of travel throughout the United States.
DUTIES
- Fuel Quality technicians pull samples from fuel storage tanks and test the quality of the fuel.
- Assist with cleaning & filtration operations at customer sites.
- Lead fuel cleaning and filtration operations at Customer sites. (company training provided).
- Provide Fuel Quality Service Work
- Must be able to maintain records and process paperwork related to service work provided including
- preparing reports and data entry
- Assist with Tank Pump outs, fuel delivery or other Mission Critical Work when required.
- Must be able to work equally well in an office as well as out at a customer site (field setting)
- Must have demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to address and resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Must be available to assist in Disaster Relief deployments when required.
KEY CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- Must have demonstrated problem solving capability.
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
- Requires travel up to approximately 60% of the time for up to two to three weeks at a time.
- Candidates must be mechanically inclined and have had some previous mechanical work experience.
- Requires attention to details in all aspects of the job, during fuel quality work as well as office work.
- Candidates must be self-motivated and a self-starter
- Candidates must have experience and competence with Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Candidates must have effective written and oral communications skills.
KEY CANDIDATE SKILLS
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain a US Passport within six months.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within three months.
