Overview:
PMO Assistant Vice President is responsible for leading a team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators that drives best practices for assessing, advising and executing significant business initiatives.
The Assistant Vice President is a senior executive within the IT division responsible for transforming strategic initiatives into successful projects including, planning, executing, monitoring, mitigating risk/issues, communicating progress and securing deliverables.
The role serves as the primary liaison with senior health system executives to facilitate business planning, prioritization and collaboration between operational leaders and IT Executives.
This role oversees daily project management activities through collaboration with senior management and department leaders and ensure all project timelines are being always met.
The role requires navigating matrixed organizational structures and ensures the successful management of designed business solutions utilizing the complete resources of the PMO Office and assigned project teams.
This individual maintains excellent communication with senior management both within and across organizations to ensure smooth running of all projects undertaken by PMO.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or masters degree required or equivalent work experience
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred
- 10 or more years of IT and business industry work experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience in managing cross functional teams or projects and influencing senior level management
- Experience in the health care field helpful, but not required
Skills:
- Outstanding personnel management skills
- Ability to prioritize large volumes of initiatives, requests, issues, risks, and changes
- Demonstrated experience with integrated document management solutions and implementation of workflow solutions
- Knowledge of Project Management best practices as well as comprehensive automated project management tools
- Effective and efficient leadership skills
- Must possess an aptitude for detail, strong verbal & written communication skills and demonstrated project management ability
