Reports to: Manufacturing Operations Manager – Plant 2

Position Overview:

Support production to ensure proper standards and procedures are followed while reducing scrap, Responsible for first piece approval and performing in-process sample inspection

Essential Job Functions:

Review of data and revisions on job sheets, prints, inspection sheets and CMM reports
1st piece inspection approval, measure, and record process dimensions
Sample inspection during production run, including functional testing, size verification, and visual inspection.
Create and utilize inspection programs
Ability to operate all inspection equipment within the quality department

Non-Essential Job Functions:

Inspection of all other operations as needed
Ability to cross-train others
Must move to specific departments to complete in-process inspection as required by workflow or absence of roaming inspector

Skills/Requirements:

Ability to operate CMM and manipulate CMM programs as needed
Basic understanding of CMM
Ability to use optical comparator
Basic blueprint reading skills
Skills with calipers, micrometers, and gages
Communication skills to train others as needed
Basic math & geometry skills
Basic materials knowledge
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to create tooth/space alignment layouts
Basic GD&T skills

Education & Experience:

Minimum 5 years inspection experience; aerospace inspection experience preferred

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift/carry 40 pounds or less

(upward pulling)

(bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles)
