About This Position

Description:

Position Title: Director of Programs

Reports To: Administrator

Summary of the Job:

Director of Programs is responsible for planning and directing all programs within a division according to the mission statement, policies and other guidelines provided by the agency. The Director of Programs should be committed to Sanctuary practice utilizing tools that reinforce our shared language to create a trauma-responsive culture.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Train and supervise program staff through individual supervision as well as staff meetings.
  2. Work as a cohesive team with the area Administrator.
  3. Plan, supervise, coordinate and evaluate the programs to families and children.
  4. Provide clinical leadership to program staff.
  5. Develop staffing patterns/schedules for programs.
  6. Develop and implement a comprehensive plan of staff development utilizing agency approved schedules.
  7. Review and monitor case files for internal and external PQI standards.
  8. Effectively utilize computer software systems used by the agency and contractors to support client records and requirements.
  9. Act on behalf of administrator in his/her absence within the guidelines identified by the administrator.
  10. Process payroll and finance in accordance with agency procedures and standards as assigned.
  11. Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients.
  12. Remain apprised of issues relating to licensure, accreditation standards, coordinate service reviews and monitor compliance to standards.
  13. Provide an on-call plan which assures an appropriate staff member is always available to backup direct care staff as well as respond to community emergencies.
  14. Prepare, implement and evaluate program strategic plan/input in agency strategic plan process.
  15. Coordinate and participate in PQI process.
  16. Serve as a member of childcare teams (treatment, review, etc.) as feasible.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in recruitment, interviewing and employment of staff as needed.
  2. Monitor income and expenses and participate in budget administration.
  3. Ensure the procurement, filing, preservation and security of records necessary for program functioning.
  4. Prepare, edit and distribute appropriate letters, reports, proposals and brochures related to program interpretation and support.
  5. Represent agency favorably at all time.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated Christian compassion for children and families in need, who has proven effectiveness in the service of others.
  2. At least 25 years of age.
  3. Master’s degree (from an accredited school) that leads to state licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW), five years of experience in the field, three of which must have included supervisory responsibilities.
  4. Possess a broad current knowledge of child welfare, childcare, service systems, therapeutic models and social sciences.
  5. Have the ability to manage time, set priorities and to organize and follow structured routines.
  6. Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  7. Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications.
  8. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Familiar with traditional Baptist tenets, customs and practices and shall maintain a compatible lifestyle
  • Meet all employee guidelines and qualifications as outlined by GBCH & FM, license, contracts and accreditation.

  • Utilize the Sanctuary Model of Care and conduct job responsibilities in a traumaresponsive manner.
  • Have the ability to work in partnership with other members in a team approach
  • Arrive to work on time and as scheduled
  • Achieve and accomplish annual goals assigned by supervisor or provide acceptable documentation as to why goals were not met.
  • Understanding of confidential issues and protected information assigned under HIPAA
  • Complete required staff development hours within the program including 24 hours in child care related training, current CPR, 1st Aid and approved emergency safety intervention training
  • Annual physical
  • Favorable MVR and fingerprint results
  • Maintain valid State Driver’s License as required
