The Indoor Plant Advisor is a customer-focused plant expert dedicated to helping shoppers select, care for, and enjoy houseplants. This role guides customers through houseplant recommendations, troubleshooting, and styling ideas while delivering a welcoming and educational retail experience. The Houseplant Advisor acts as the in-store authority on indoor plant care and ensures customers leave confident and excited about their purchases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting the right houseplants for their homes and lifestyles
  
• Identify indoor plants and explain light, watering, and care requirements
  
• Recommend plant pairings, pots, and basic interior plant design solutions
  
• Diagnose common houseplant problems and provide practical solutions
  
• Suggest appropriate substitutions based on availability and customer preferences
  
• Educate customers on repotting, fertilizing, and long-term plant maintenance
  
• Maintain attractive, organized houseplant displays
  
• Contribute to a positive, engaging retail environment

• Strong knowledge of indoor plants and houseplant care
  
• Previous customer service experience
  
• Ability to clearly explain plant needs to customers of all experience levels
  
• Friendly, patient, and service-oriented personality
  
• Enthusiasm for plants, design, and helping people succeed with houseplants
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  
• Basic understanding of indoor lighting, soil, and watering practices
  
• Retail merchandising experience is a plus
