Join Us as a Skills Instructor
As a Skills Instructor, you'll work directly with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them cultivate essential skills for successful employment, meaningful volunteer work, pursuing post-secondary education, and active community participation in various settings to achieve greater independence.
What You'll Do- Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
- Take individuals on community outingswhether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
- Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
- Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
- A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- A valid drivers license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
- Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
- CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plusbut if you bring passion and dedication, well provide the training.
- Starting rate of $18$25 per hour, paid weekly
