About This Position

Job Title: Commercial – Alignment Technician

Reports To: Larry Newsome

Location: Greensboro, NC

Employment Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

This position has typical work hours Monday – Friday from 7:30AM – 5:00PM

Job Summary:

The Truck Alignment Technician will be responsible for performing computerized alignments on heavy service trucks. Employees in this position will also work on truck repairs including brakes, shocks, struts and general front-end repairs.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Visually inspect trucks for needed repairs and offer customers preventative maintenance solutions
  • Align and adjust toe, camber and caster settings to required specifications light trucks and medium trucks
  • Align trailer axles
  • Repair broken or worn mechanical components
  • Test vehicles both before and after repair
  • Write work orders and inspections on all services performed
  • Keep service area clean to enhance a safe work environment
  • Responsible for following all safety regulations, processes and procedures required by Parrish Tire Company, TIA, OSHA and NCDOL
  • Communicate safety concerns and customer problems with service manager or store manager immediately
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an alignment technician
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid NC driver’s license
  • Must become (TIA) Certified if not already

Required Physical Abilities:

Physical requirements of this position may require a range of activities. These can include, but are not limited to:

  • Lifting and carrying – the ability to lift and transport objects of specified weights, which may vary by job. For example, a job may require lifting up 50-150lbs regularly.
  • Standing and walking – this position will require standing and walking for periods of time
  • Bending and stooping – bending, stooping, or crouching are requiring to effectively preform essential duties of this position.
  • Reaching and pushing/pulling – the ability to reach for items, push carts, or pull equipment will be necessary for daily activities.
  • Sitting – there will be times this position will be needed to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • This position will also be required to operate certain machinery and other equipment safely.

Work Environment:

This position will require employees to work in certain weather conditions, such as heat, cold, as well as potentially confined spaces.
