The Sr Indirect Tax Accountant will manage tax filings, ensure accurate accounting for tax liabilities, and assist with audits across multiple jurisdictions. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, clear communication with management and external parties, and the ability to analyze complex tax laws to drive efficient and compliant processes. Accountabilities:- Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local tax filings in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Analyze tax laws and provide guidance on product and service taxability
- Support audit requests, gather documentation, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconcile assigned tax liabilities in accordance with accounting principles
- Communicate effectively with management, field operations, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures related to tax processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support tax strategies and process improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel (v-lookups, sumifs, pivot tables)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in state and local tax compliance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
- Knowledge of general ledger processes, tax accruals, and regulatory compliance
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams and levels of the organization
