Meter Service Technician - Manor at Sparus Holdings – Manor, Texas

Position Summary

The Meter Service Technician supports Allegiant Utilities’ meter service operations by performing hands‑on tasks related to the receipt, preparation, programming, and organization of electric meters and associated materials. This role ensures meters are processed accurately, safely, and in accordance with established shop procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Receiving & Inspection
• Receive incoming meters, components, and materials.
• Inspect items for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
• Document inventory movements in accordance with company procedures.

Meter Cleaning & Preparation

• Clean and prepare meters using approved tools and methods.
• Remove debris, tags, stickers, or other materials as required.

Meter Programming & Configuration

• Program meters using established workflows, software tools, and equipment.
• Verify successful programming and document results.
• Label meters accurately to ensure proper identification and traceability.

Shop Operations Support

• Assist with organizing inventory, maintaining work areas, and supporting workflow across the shop.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, orderly work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support meter service operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal procedures with strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills; willingness to learn meter programming software.
• Ability to stand, lift, and move materials as required in a shop environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a utility, manufacturing, or technical repair environment.
• Familiarity with electric meters or related electrical/technical equipment.

Work Environment

• This role operates in a meter refurbishment and service shop environment with exposure to tools, equipment, and inventory materials. Proper PPE and adherence to safety processes are required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or move throughout the production floor as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
• Comfortable working in a technical workshop/production environment
