Responsibilities:

A Senior Staff Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that quality systems are effectively implemented and that quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. Here's a brief overview of the typical responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

  • Develop and improve processes to support consistent execution, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior Quality Engineers to help them progress in their career.
  • Develop and implement project-specific quality plans and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain project quality documentation, including quality control plans, inspection checklists, and test procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality records, including non-conformance reports, inspection reports, and corrective action reports.
  • Train project team members on quality standards, processes, and procedures to promote a culture of quality throughout the project.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements and resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on quality performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality management to ensure continuous improvement of project quality processes.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, or similar field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quality engineering within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Ability to work onsite in Durango, CO.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, etc.

Employment Type: Exempt

The expected salary range for this role is $128,000-$193,100 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.

Work Schedule: Full Time

Location: Onsite in Durango, CO
