Position Number: S83430

This position is a Grade: 10 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $66,270-$80,620 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuously improve performance, availability, and reliability of infrastructure systems.
• Follow and maintain documentation related to system configuration, processes, and procedures.
• Support and establish new services, keep existing services running smoothly, and enhance existing services. Utilize highly developed skills in problem solving and analysis, system security, system monitoring, system configuration, and system automation.
• Contribute to and participate in meeting the overall goals of Lehigh University.
• Problem solving and analysis. Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their pain points and needs. Be forward-thinking with emerging technology and approaches that can be leveraged in our solutions, and present recommendations for how they can successfully be implemented in our environment.
• Provide system and storage support for both cloud and on-premise data centers.
• Monitor system performance and security, and take proactive steps to ensure uptime and system/data integrity.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for early detection and response to issues under the direction of Systems, Network, and Solutions Architects.
• Work with stakeholders to understand impact of issues and pain points, apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and address issues, and take proactive approach via monitoring and alerting to detect issues before the stakeholder encounters issues. Communicate issues and status in an open and timely manner with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the team to continuously improve and implement business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
• Incorporate or develop code or scripts to enhance, secure, and automate new and existing systems that result in a modernized, secure, and automated infrastructure for Lehigh University.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related field
• One to three years of related work experience
• Foundational experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Basic understanding of virtualization platforms (such as VMWare, HyperV, or XenServer)
• Knowledge of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Programming or scripting experience (python, PowerShell, bash, php, perl, etc.)
• Ability to think critically, diagnose problems. and propose effective solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams
