This role is responsible for leading the design, deployment, and management of enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives, ensuring sensitive data is protected across cloud, web, and endpoint environments. You will work closely with security teams, business units, and compliance stakeholders to implement DLP policies, investigate incidents, and continuously improve the organization’s data protection posture. The position requires expertise in DLP technologies, risk management, regulatory compliance, and security best practices, as well as experience in creating and operationalizing scalable DLP programs. This is a high-impact role that combines technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on engineering within a globally distributed environment.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain DLP technologies, integrations, and policies to protect sensitive data across systems and platforms.
- Manage the full lifecycle of DLP systems, including design, engineering, administration, daily operations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Align DLP solutions with business requirements, balancing security controls with operational enablement.
- Collaborate with other security teams to ensure strategy alignment and comprehensive control coverage.
- Create and maintain documentation, training materials, and process manuals to support DLP programs and employee awareness.
- Monitor, report, and analyze Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Partner with Audit, Compliance, and IT teams to identify, assess, and mitigate operational and regulatory risks.
- Participate in after-hours support, on-call rotations, and critical incident investigations as required.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, IT, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years in cybersecurity, security engineering, or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) roles.
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise DLP solutions, UBA/UEBA, CASB, and DAR tools.
- Proficiency with Zscaler web policies, PAC files, and DLP engine management.
- Familiarity with Proofpoint, Microsoft Security tools, and Varonis.
- Experience building, deploying, and maintaining custom DLP detection and prevention policies.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as PCI, NYDFS, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Strong experience in remote or globally distributed teams, collaborating across functions.
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective DLP solutions.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and interfacing with senior leadership for program updates and strategic initiatives.
- Preferred: Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM), experience with SOAR technologies, ServiceNow Security Incident Management, and scripting skills.
