ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Digital Fabrication Foreman, you are responsible for overseeing and leading the digital fabrication department in Toronto and Long Island City through effective planning, organization, and supervision of all department activities.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you are expected to drive high performance through strategic oversight; ensuring that projects meet quality, timing, and efficiency standards. This role requires a proactive approach, with the ability to independently resolve production and assembly issues while coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless operations.

  • Comply with all government safety regulations and company-specific safety rules, procedures, and policies
  • Evaluate and recommend the purchase of new equipment, technology, machinery, or materials to enhance production capabilities.
  • Plan and trouble shoot machinery, equipment requirements, and workflow
  • Generate regular reports on equipment status, inventory levels, and any issues affecting production.
  • Ensure quality, timing, and efficiency in all aspects of digital fabrication projects.
  • Actively participate in project hand-off meetings to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Strategically plan fabrication, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Analyze project requirements from drawings and specifications to develop detailed fabrication plans.
  • Coordinate between digital fabrication and design to ensure accurate translation of design intent into fabricated components.
  • Inspect fabricated components regularly to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Supervise digital fabrication team; provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and high-quality output.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Directly supervises approximately 8-12 production employees.

TRAVEL: Minimal travel expected, approximately less than 10%. Localized travel to our Long Island City, New York production facility may be required.

ABOUT YOU:

Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary technical training in a related field.
Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in CNC machining in a millwork related field.
Strong proficiency in Solidworks and/or other related parametric software modelling tools
Strong proficiency in a CNC Programming Software (3 and 5 axis)
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Strong experience with MS Project or other scheduling software
Ability to read and understand CAD Drawings
Exceptional problem solving skills
