    About theRole

    The FoodBank Operations Director is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible foroverseeing all aspects of food bank operations, including food sourcing,warehouse management, inventory control, logistics, compliance, anddistribution.

    This role reportsto the Chief of Food Security and directly supervises the Senior WarehouseOperations Manager and the Food Sourcing Manager, ensuring operationalexcellence across the organization. The Director serves as a key collaboratorwith the Network Operations Team, aligning efforts across more than 150 partneragencies to support the efficient distribution of 7 million pounds ofnutritious food annually.

    The FoodBank Operations Director plays a critical leadership role in advancingoperational strategy, strengthening cross-functional coordination, and drivingtechnology innovation. This position ensures that high-quality, nutritious foodreaches the community efficiently, cost-effectively, safely, and reliably,reflecting strong stewardship of resources and a deep commitment to service.

    KeyResponsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all day-to-day food bank operations, ensuring seamless coordination across food sourcing, warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Senior Warehouse Operations Manager and Food Sourcing Manager, overseeing a team of 17 and fostering a high-performance culture grounded in operational safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive food sourcing and procurement strategy, negotiating pricing, optimizing purchasing power, and securing high-quality, nutritious food in a cost-effective manner.
  • Oversee warehouse, transportation, and distribution operations, driving process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, service levels, and cost control.
  • Fully leverage data, systems, and technology to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, strengthen reporting, and continuously improve operational performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with Feeding America standards and all federal, state, and local food safety and handling regulations; lead audit readiness, risk mitigation, and quality assurance efforts.
  • KeyQualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership in operations management, including food banking, warehouse management, distribution, supply chain, food sourcing and logistics.
  • Experience leading managers and frontline teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial and procurement skills, including budgeting and vendor negotiations.
  • Experience and proven success with inventory management systems, data-driven operations, and process improvement.
  • Collaborative leader with strong problem-solving skills, an innovative mindset, and a commitment to serving diverse communities.
  • WorkLocation:

    · Inperson, on-site 5 days per week.
