Bill Lake Modular Homes is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to ensure every modular home leaving our facility meets the highest standards of craftsmanship, compliance, and customer expectations. This role is responsible for inspecting homes throughout every stage of the manufacturing process from framing through finishes and final delivery preparation.
The Quality Control Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with state modular standards, building codes, and internal quality benchmarks while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities- Inspection & Compliance
Conduct inspections at all stages of production, including framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, finish work, and final completion.
Verify adherence to stamped print sets, design specifications, and customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with local and state building codes, IRC/IBC standards, safety requirements, and Bill Lake construction practices.
Perform final walkthroughs prior to shipment to confirm product quality standards are met.
Conduct load inspections and verify ship-loose materials based on load sheets provided by the QC Manager.
- Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of inspections, defects identified, corrective actions taken, and final inspection results.
Develop and manage internal and external quality control checklists and inspection forms.
Submit regular quality reports identifying recurring issues and recommending solutions.
Utilize inspection software and digital tools (Smartsheet, Excel, QC systems) to document findings.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with production supervisors, engineering, and other departments to ensure structural components, systems, and craftsmanship meet quality standards.
Identify opportunities to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Assist with internal audits of quality control procedures and recommend process improvements.
Promote and support a culture of quality, safety, and accountability throughout the production environment.
Ensure all inspections are conducted safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.
Experience in residential or modular construction, preferably in a quality control or inspection role.
Strong understanding of state modular standards and IRC/IBC building codes.
Proficiency using inspection software, Smartsheet, Excel, and digital documentation tools.
Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple inspections and deadlines.
Familiarity with construction inspection tools and reporting practices.
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Technical certifications or training in construction inspection or quality management (preferred).
In-person attendance required.
