Quantum Corporation leads the world in helping users collaboratively solve some of the world's hardest computer challenges. Whether its wrangling Petabytes of data for cutting edge movie production, managing global content production workflows, exploring new sources of energy, or managing oceans of content and blending collaborative high-speed workflows with cutting-edge object storage, Quantum has the tools and technology to help you engineer the solution that works now - and preserves your work for decades to come. You are applying to an exceptional team that contributes to enhancing our position as a proven global expert in data management.
We are seeking a UI Development Manager with deep expertise in Vue.js and React who can lead frontend architecture while also guiding backend API design for enterprise storage products. In this role, you will own the overall experience of our management consoles—ensuring that modern, responsive UIs integrate cleanly with robust, scalable backend APIs that expose storage functionality such as provisioning, monitoring, protection, and lifecycle management. You will be hands-on technically, mentor engineers across the stack, and partner closely with backend, product management, and storage engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Frontend Leadership (Vue & React)
- Own the technical direction and architecture of web-based management consoles built with Vue.js and React.
- Establish best practices for component design, state management, performance optimization, and testability.
- Ensure UI responsiveness and stability even when visualizing large-scale, real-time storage data (metrics, alerts, capacity, and health).
Backend API Guidance
- Guide the team on backend API design and consumption, ensuring APIs are intuitive, versioned, and scalable for UI needs.
- Advocate for contract-first API development, collaborating with backend teams to define schemas, error handling, and lifecycle management.
- Mentor engineers on API validation, documentation, and testing using tools such as Postman.
Full-Stack Oversight
- Lead engineers working across frontend and backend boundaries, ensuring seamless integration between UI and storage services.
- Review designs and implementations for performance, reliability, and maintainability across the stack.
- Drive cross-team alignment between UI, backend services, and storage platform teams.
Storage-Focused User Experience
- Partner with Product Management to translate complex storage concepts—such as RAID, snapshots, replication, deduplication, and capacity planning—into clear, user-friendly workflows.
- Ensure workflows scale to thousands of nodes, volumes, and policies without degrading usability or performance.
Performance & Quality
- Lead initiatives to reduce UI latency and improve perceived performance in large storage environments.
- Promote automation, CI/CD integration, and quality metrics across the UI and API layers.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on frontend or full-stack engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience with Vue.js and/or React in production environments.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, backend service design principles, and distributed systems.
- Experience building or integrating UIs for complex infrastructure or platform products.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and Linux-based development environments.
- Willing and able to come into our Centennial, CO office at least 3 days per week (core hours: Tuesday - Thursday 10am - 4pm)
Preferred
- Experience with storage technologies (NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel) or other infrastructure platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and cross-functional product teams.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow UI and full-stack engineers.
- Strong communication skills, able to influence across frontend, backend, and storage engineering teams.
- Comfortable balancing technical depth with delivery and prioritization.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
