Your seat at the table: Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
In this seat you’ll oversee all manufacturing activities within the assigned department(s). You'll be responsible for maintaining quality and attaining production schedules. You will also ensure operations of the department are within established lean principles and budget.

Lead, Manage & Drive Accountability (LMA)
- Provide clear direction, communication, and performance expectations.
- Actively participate in the recruiting, onboarding, development, coaching, and progressive discipline of employees.
- Partner with HR on employee relations matters, including attendance, and performance decisions.
- Understand and abide by the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Make Product & Pack
- Coordinate daily production to meet established schedules and targets.
- Assign personnel, monitor work progress, and ensure resources are used efficiently to achieve production goals.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, methods, and personnel performance.
- Ensure equipment is operating effectively and coordinate repairs when needed.
Safety
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by enforcing compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Verify and hold employees accountable for proper PPE use and safe work practices.
- Educate employees on safety standards and actively participate in safety initiatives and corrective actions.
Quality
- Enforce quality standards and specifications for all products produced within the department.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to resolve issues and implement improvement measures.
- Utilize visual management and other quality tools to communicate and reinforce quality performance expectations.
Training
- Ensure employees receive proper training on safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Support cross-training efforts to build flexibility within the team.
- Utilize daily communication tools and visual management boards to reinforce priorities and drive performance.
Daily Staffing
- Monitor and manage daily staffing levels to align with production needs.
- Adjust workforce assignments to ensure adequate coverage across shifts and departments.
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments to balance resources and meet customer demand.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, production flow, and machine utilization to reduce total costs.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and improvement teams to identify and implement process enhancements.

Requirements:We need this seat to have:
• High School graduate.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have at least 3-5 years supervisory experience
• Experience in a union environment desired
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• PC Literate.
