About This Position

Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and facilities at our Wendy's locations are in optimal working condition to provide our customers with a consistently outstanding dining experience. This includes routine and preventative maintenance of all HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC Maintenance and Repair

  • Conduct regular inspections of the HVAC systems to ensure they are operating efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing filters, cleaning ducts, and checking system pressures.
  • Diagnose and resolve any HVAC system malfunctions.

Refrigeration Maintenance and Repair

  • Ensure all refrigeration units, including walk-in coolers and freezers, are operating at the correct temperatures and are well-maintained.
  • Conduct routine checks on refrigeration systems to detect leaks, ensure proper coolant levels, and maintain equipment to prevent failures.
  • Address any system malfunctions in a timely manner.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and systems.
  • Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for repairs and maintenance tasks.

General Maintenance Duties

  • Address minor electrical, plumbing, and structural issues within the establishment.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to address any equipment concerns or operational challenges.
  • Keep a detailed record of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations related to equipment maintenance and repair.

Vendor and Contractor Liaison

  • Coordinate with third-party contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure that all third-party work is up to the establishment's standards and within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, with a focus on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures, from hot kitchens to cold refrigeration units.
